We waited together in the hallway, Lauren doing one last look into the mirror, as we held our breaths. The excitement and hurriedness of the day slowed and softened into steadied breaths. Slowly we heard the door open at the end of the hallway, and her father, her cheerleader, her constant rock stepped out to see his daughter dressed in white. With tears in both there eyes she walked towards him, today was the day he was giving his daughter away…

Summer seemed to come late this year to the mountains and we are all a little wistful as we say goodbye to the warm evenings by the lake.  I love everything about summer in the Adirondacks; maybe when it cold and snowy for so many months in the North, we cherish our summers a little bit more. Sabrina and Shai’s portrait session captured the essence of summer from the smell of damp earth after a thunderstorm to dipping your toes into the lake on a hot day.
