“For all the things my hands have held, the best by far is you.”
I am so glad that Lauren and Chris made the time in their incredible busy schedules to have their family photography session with me! It can be so hard to find the time especially when we all have such busy schedules and lives! Both Chris and Lauren work full time, Chris coaches soccer, and to top it all off they are busy working on a list of projects on the home they recently purchased! Given their schedules, we decided that early morning would be best for their family session and what a better place than were Chris proposed to Lauren!
The historic Saugerties lighthouse is a stunning location and has beautiful light, especially in the morning! We walked along the short trail to the lighthouse stopping at the “beach” to take some photographs along the way. There are so many fun little spots to photograph at like the beaches, wooden bridges and the winding trail along the Hudson River.
I love shooting at “beachy” locations because the light bounces off the sand and rocks and is so flattering for portraits! The morning worked out perfectly as well because we had a little bit of cloud cover that diffused the light, so we didn’t have to search out shady locations.
For family sessions beautiful light is my first priority over the background; especially with family photographs I feel that the people in the photographs are much more important than the location we are shooting in. Because of the diffused light and time of day though we were able to get some really great photographs with the lighthouse in the background that I think are gorgeous!
Please contact me if you would like to talk about booking your next family photography session!
Lots of Love,
Julia
